Verse of the Day
After the sin of the golden calf, the tone of the camp had changed. God’s presence, once in their midst, now moved outside the camp. The LORD told Moses, “Go ahead to the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will send an angel before you… but I will not go with you.” Why? Because God said, “You are a stubborn people. If I go with you for even a moment, I might destroy you.”
This shook the people. They mourned deeply. No one dressed up or wore their ornaments. God had told them, “Take off your jewelry,” and they obeyed. Those ornaments, once a sign of joy and pride – were now symbols of sorrow. The people laid them aside. That act of removing jewelry wasn’t just external. It was a heart response. They were saying, “We’ve sinned. We are not worthy.” It wasn’t temporary. The Scripture suggests they put it off permanently. And later, that same gold was given, not to wear – but to build the holy Tabernacle for God’s presence.
In this time, Moses did something important. He took a simple tent and pitched it outside the camp. This was not the Tabernacle with all its beauty and holy items – that would come later. This was a temporary tent, a place Moses used to talk with God. They called it the Tent of Meeting.
Whenever Moses went into the tent, the people watched. A pillar of cloud would come down and stand at the entrance. And there, God spoke to Moses; not with riddles, not in parables or dreams, but “face to face” – like a friend speaking with a friend.
Now, it’s important to understand; “face to face” doesn’t mean Moses saw God’s face. God Himself says later, “No man can see My face and live.” What Moses experienced was clear, direct communication, without confusion. A closeness. A divine friendship. It was more than what any other prophet had experienced. Numbers 12:6-8 says it clearly; God spoke to Moses clearly and openly, not like He did with others in dreams or visions.
And inside that tent, Moses interceded again. He pleaded, “LORD, if you don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place.” And God, moved by that friendship and that heart, replied, “I will do what you have asked.” What a beautiful glimpse of relationship. Even in the middle of judgment, God’s heart is tender to those who walk with Him closely.
Our Lesson
Sometimes, the deepest lessons come from moments of separation. After Israel’s sin with the golden calf, God didn’t abandon them completely, but He made something very clear – His holy presence would not remain in the midst of rebellion. That’s why the Tent of Meeting was set up outside the camp. Sin had caused a distance.
This reminds us of another moment in time; when Israel rejected Christ, and the call of God moved beyond their borders. After the end of Daniel’s 70th prophetic week, the message went out to the Gentiles. Just like the Tent of Meeting was outside the camp, today the Church – the Body of Christ – lives in a kind of spiritual wilderness, in a temporary condition, waiting for the time when we will become God’s permanent temple.
1 Corinthians 3:16 reminds us: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
But this temple is not yet complete. We must remain faithful till the end, enduring trials, running the race, and being transformed daily.
Just like God spoke to Moses in plain language; Today, through His Word, God is still speaking clearly. The mysteries once hidden for ages are now being revealed to the faithful. Ephesians 3:4-5 tells us that these secrets are made known to His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.
But here’s a question for our hearts; are we listening?
When the people realized their sin, they took off their ornaments – their gold, their jewelry, their pride. These once-beautiful things became reminders of failure. It wasn’t about the gold; it was about the heart. They laid aside what once mattered to them; for the sake of coming closer to God.
So we ask: Are we clinging to fashion, gold, luxury, and vanity, even as we seek God’s presence? Has our heart let go of the ornaments of the world?
Moses walked with God like a friend. Imagine that- face to face, like two close companions.
John 15:15 says, “I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” We are being called into the same friendship; but it’s costly. It requires repentance, surrender, and daily fellowship.
Let us remember:
The tent has moved into us. We are God’s dwelling place now.
Let us not fill this house with pride, rebellion, or excuses.
Instead, let it be a place where God delights to speak – clearly, freely, and daily.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for calling us into friendship with You & your Son. Help us to remove every ornament of pride, every distraction of this world, and draw near with a humble heart. May our hearts become a dwelling place where You speak clearly, as You did with Moses. Let us walk in holiness, holding fast until we become Your eternal temple.

பொற் கன்றுக்குட்டியின் பாவத்திற்குப் பிறகு, பாளயத்தின் நிலைமை மாறியது. ஒரு காலத்தில் அவர்கள் நடுவில் இருந்த கடவுளின் பிரசன்னம், இப்போது பாளயத்துக்கு வெளியே சென்றது. கர்த்தர் மோசேயிடம், “நீயும், எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து நீ அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்த ஜனங்களும் இவ்விடத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு. உன் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று நான் ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்துக்குப் போங்கள். நான் ஒரு தூதனை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்புவேன்… ஆனாலும், வழியிலே நான் உங்களை நிர்மூலம்பண்ணாதபடிக்கு, நான் உங்கள் நடுவே செல்லமாட்டேன்” என்று சொன்னார். ஏன்? ஏனென்றால் தேவன், “நீங்கள் வணங்காக்கழுத்துள்ள ஜனங்கள், நான் ஒரு நிமிஷத்தில் உங்கள் நடுவில் எழும்பி, உங்களை நிர்மூலம்பண்ணுவேன்” என்று சொன்னார்.
இது ஜனங்களை நடுங்க வைத்தது. அவர்கள் ஆழ்ந்த துக்கம் அடைந்தனர். யாரும் ஆடம்பரமாக உடை அணியவில்லை அல்லது தங்கள் நகைகளை அணியவில்லை. கடவுள் அவர்களிடம், “உங்கள் ஆபரணங்களைக் கழற்றிப்போடுங்கள்” என்று சொன்னார், அவர்களும் கீழ்ப்படிந்தனர். அந்த நகைகள், ஒரு காலத்தில் மகிழ்ச்சி மற்றும் பெருமையின் அடையாளமாக இருந்தவை, இப்போது துக்கத்தின் சின்னங்களாக மாறின. ஜனங்கள் அவற்றை ஒதுக்கிவைத்தனர். நகைகளைக் கழற்றிய அந்தச் செயல் வெளிப்புறமானது மட்டுமல்ல. அது ஒரு இதயப்பூர்வமான பிரதிபலிப்பு. அவர்கள், “நாங்கள் பாவம் செய்துவிட்டோம். நாங்கள் தகுதியற்றவர்கள்” என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். இது தற்காலிகமல்ல. வேதாகமம் அதை நிரந்தரமாக விட்டுவிடுவதாகக் குறிப்பிடுகிறது. பின்னர், அதே தங்கம், அணிவதற்காக அல்லாமல், கடவுளின் பிரசன்னத்திற்காக பரிசுத்த ஆசாரிப்புக்கூடாரம் கட்டுவதற்காக கொடுக்கப்பட்டது.
இந்த நேரத்தில், மோசே ஒரு முக்கியமான செயலைச் செய்தார். அவர் ஒரு எளிய கூடாரத்தை எடுத்து பாளயத்துக்கு வெளியே அமைத்தார். இது அழகும் பரிசுத்தமான பொருள்களும் நிறைந்த ஆசாரிப்புக்கூடாரம் அல்ல. இது ஒரு தற்காலிக கூடாரம், மோசே கடவுளுடன் பேச பயன்படுத்திய இடம். அவர்கள் அதை சந்திப்புக் கூடாரம் என்று அழைத்தனர்.
மோசே கூடாரத்திற்குள் செல்லும்போதெல்லாம், ஜனங்கள் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். ஒரு மேகஸ்தம்பம் இறங்கி கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றது. அங்கே, தேவன் மோசேயுடன் பேசினார்; புதிர்களால் அல்ல, உவமைகளால் அல்ல, கனவுகளால் அல்ல, ஆனால் “முகமுகமாக” – ஒரு நண்பன் தன் நண்பனுடன் பேசுவதைப் போல.
இப்போது, ஒரு விஷயத்தைப் புரிந்துகொள்வது முக்கியம்; “முகமுகமாக” என்றால் மோசே கடவுளின் முகத்தைப் பார்த்தார் என்று அர்த்தமல்ல. கடவுள் பின்னர் சொல்கிறார், “ஒரு மனுஷனும் என்னைக் கண்டு உயிரோடிருக்கக்கூடாது.” மோசே அனுபவித்தது குழப்பமில்லாத, தெளிவான, நேரடியான தொடர்பு, ஒரு நெருக்கம். ஒரு தெய்வீக நட்பு. இது வேறு எந்த தீர்க்கதரிசியும் அனுபவித்ததை விட அதிகமாக இருந்தது. எண்ணாகமம் 12:6-8 தெளிவாகச் சொல்கிறது; கடவுள் மோசேயுடன் தெளிவாகவும் வெளிப்படையாகவும் பேசினார், அவர் மற்றவர்களுடன் கனவுகளிலோ தரிசனங்களிலோ பேசியதைப் போல அல்ல.

நமக்கானப் பாடம்
சில நேரங்களில், ஆழமான பாடங்கள் பிரிவின் தருணங்களிலிருந்து வருகின்றன. இஸ்ரயேலின் பொற்கன்று பாவத்திற்குப் பிறகு, கடவுள் அவர்களை முற்றிலும் கைவிடவில்லை, ஆனால் ஒரு விஷயத்தை மிகத் தெளிவாகச் சொன்னார் – அவரது பரிசுத்த பிரசன்னம் கலகத்தின் நடுவில் இருக்காது. அதனால்தான் சந்திப்புக் கூடாரம் பாளயத்துக்கு வெளியே அமைக்கப்பட்டது. பாவம் ஒரு தூரத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
இது நமக்கு மற்றொரு தருணத்தை நினைவூட்டுகிறது; இஸ்ரயேல் கிறிஸ்துவை நிராகரித்தபோது, கடவுளின் அழைப்பு அவர்களின் எல்லைகளுக்கு அப்பால் சென்றது. தானியேலின் 70 வது தீர்க்கதரிசன வாரம் முடிந்த பிறகு, செய்தி புறஜாதியினருக்குச் சென்றது. சந்திப்புக் கூடாரம் பாளயத்துக்கு வெளியே இருந்ததைப் போல, இன்று திருச்சபை – கிறிஸ்துவின் சரீரம் – ஒரு வகையான ஆவிக்குரிய வனாந்தரத்தில், ஒரு தற்காலிக நிலையில் வாழ்கிறது, நாம் தேவனின் நிரந்தரமான ஆலயமாக மாறும் காலத்திற்காக காத்திருக்கிறோம்.
1 கொரிந்தியர் 3:16 நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறது: “நீங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயமாயிருக்கிறீர்களென்றும், தேவனுடைய ஆவி உங்களில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறாரென்றும் அறியாதிருக்கிறீர்களா?”
ஆனால் இந்த ஆலயம் இன்னும் முழுமையடையவில்லை. நாம் இறுதிவரை விசுவாசமாக இருக்க வேண்டும், சோதனைகளைத் தாங்க வேண்டும், பந்தயத்தில் ஓட வேண்டும், தினமும் மாற்றப்பட வேண்டும்.
கடவுள் மோசேயுடன் தெளிவான மொழியில் பேசியதைப் போல; இன்றும், அவரது வார்த்தை மூலம், கடவுள் இன்னும் தெளிவாகப் பேசுகிறார். பழைய காலங்களில் மறைக்கப்பட்ட மர்மங்கள் இப்போது விசுவாசிகளுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன. எபேசியர் 3:6 நமக்குச் சொல்கிறது, இந்த இரகசியம் இப்பொழுது அவருடைய பரிசுத்த அப்போஸ்தலருக்கும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்கும் ஆவியானவராலே வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறதுபோல, முற்காலங்களில் மனுபுத்திரருக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படவில்லை.
ஆனால் இங்கே நம் இருதயங்களுக்கு ஒரு கேள்வி; நாம் கேட்கிறோமா?
ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் பாவத்தை உணர்ந்தபோது, அவர்கள் தங்கள் ஆபரணங்களை – தங்கம், நகைகள், பெருமை – கழற்றினர். ஒரு காலத்தில் அழகாக இருந்த இந்த விஷயங்கள் தோல்வியின் நினைவூட்டல்களாக மாறின. இது தங்கத்தைப் பற்றி அல்ல; இது இருதயத்தைப் பற்றி. அவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு ஒரு காலத்தில் முக்கியமானவற்றை ஒதுக்கிவைத்தனர்; கடவுளிடம் நெருங்கி வருவதற்காக.
எனவே நமக்கு நாம் கேட்கலாம்: நாம் கடவுளின் பிரசன்னத்தைத் தேடும்போதும், உலகின் நகைகளான ஃபேஷன், தங்கம், ஆடம்பரம் வீண்பெருமை, மற்றும் மாயையைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோமா? நம் இருதயம் உலகின் அலங்காரங்களை விட்டுவிட்டதா?
மோசே ஒரு நண்பரைப் போல கடவுளுடன் நடந்தார். அதை நினைத்துப் பாருங்கள்- முகமுகமாக, இரண்டு நெருங்கிய தோழர்கள் போல.
யோவான் 15:15 சொல்கிறது, “நான் உங்களைச் சிநேகிதர் என்றேன், ஏனெனில் என் பிதாவினிடத்தில் நான் கேள்விப்பட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தேன்.” நாமும் அதே நட்புக்கு அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம்; ஆனால் அதற்கு விலை உண்டு. அதற்கு மனந்திரும்புதல், அர்பணித்தல் மற்றும் தினசரி ஐக்கியம் தேவை.
நாம் நினைவில் கொள்வோம்:
கூடாரம் நம்முள் நுழைந்துவிட்டது; இப்போது நாம் தேவனுடைய வாசஸ்தலமாக இருக்கிறோம். இந்த வீட்டை பெருமையால், கலகத்தால் அல்லது சாக்குப்போக்குகளால் நிரப்ப வேண்டாம். அதற்குப் பதிலாக, இது தேவன் தெளிவாகவும் சுதந்திரமாகவும் தினமும் பேச விரும்பும் ஒரு பரிசுத்த இடமாக இருக்கட்டும்.
